Buying Organic

Karen W. from Newport, RI asks...
Is going organic better?
According to many studies looking at the nutrient content of organic vs. non-organic foods, it appears that organic fruits and vegetables have a higher nutrient content than their counterparts. Also other organic foods such as milks and meats have lower amounts of antibiotics and hormones than those that are not organic.

I am a firm believer that higher quality foods will be more satisfying to your appetite, and will allow you to feel fuller with less total calories. While organic foods may be more expensive, think of this as an investment in the most valuable asset you own... YOUR BODY!

Make sure to check that the organic foods you purchase are certified organic as to assure strict standards are followed, and that you are getting what you pay for.
