We've all seen such insanity in the weight-loss industry. One fad after another promises amazing results with no effort on your part. "Lose 40 lbs. in one month and get into that bikini by summer!" Or how about "Magic Fat Burning Pill: Lose all the weight and get rock hard abs at the same time!"

We all want to believe the impossible is true when, deep down inside, that voice of reason knows it just ain't so.

So maybe it's time for a new paradigm in weight management. Here goes:

CALORIES DON'T COUNT!

We've been drilled endlessly that just cutting calories leads to weight loss. But 98% of calorie-restricted diets FAIL MISERABLY!

Here are just a few interesting calorie facts:

  • Calories only measure the TOTAL ENERGY contained in your food.
  • The amount of calories YOU retain from a meal may be completely different from someone else who eats the exact same thing.
  • The calories you absorb from a meal can change based on varying circumstances.
  • Different TYPES of calories (carbohydrates, fats, proteins) can have vastly different effects on our bodies.
  • Some calories can act like appetite stimulants, while others can dramatically suppress our appetite.
